A longtime central Ohio flooring store, 6 Floors Down, got a big boost on June 13 when it opened a Pickerington location at 201 Clint Drive, Ste. 200 in the Creek Bend Center.

This is the first expansion for the business, which has operated at 186 S. State St. in Westerville for the past 14 years.

Owner Steve Noel said 6 Floors Down has an established clientele and continues to grow. So he thought it was time to open another store.

“We started looking in the Columbus area and settled in Pickerington,” Noel said. “It kind of has that small-town vibe, and that’s what we have in Westerville.”

Like the Westerville store, the Pickerington location is approximately 2,000 square feet.

Noel said he will initially have two full-time employees at the second store, which will be open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

“We congratulate 6 Floors Down on the grand opening of their second location and are delighted that the company has chosen Pickerington as a location to expand their business,” said Kim Barlag, President of the Pickerington Area Chamber of Commerce. .

While the Westerville store serves both the residential and commercial sectors, Noel said the Pickerington store will focus on residential customers.

“We have all the typical flooring types – carpet, tile, laminate, hardwood, luxury vinyl and some laminates and the newer waterproof floors, which are becoming popular,” he said. “We have the whole range which are the latest styles.

“We try to give people choice when it comes to their flooring,” he said. “We not only sell them their floors, but we also install them ourselves.”

Noel said his stores provide a single point of contact, and the salesperson who helps a customer select flooring will help them through the process through to installation.

Noel said the site not only allows customers to see flooring from all manufacturers that 6 Floors Down offers, but also has a feature that helps customers see what various options would look like in their home.

“We have a room viewer,” he said. “Customers can upload a photo of their kitchen or living room or any room so they can see what the floor would look like in that room.”

He said both 6 Floors Down locations offer “home shopping” services, whereby company staff will bring samples and consult with customers at their homes.
