Floor & Decor will open in former Burlington space

A Floor & Decor store will move into the former Burlington space of the Ambassador Way Mall, at the corner of Ambassador Caffery Parkway and Ridge Road.

Store officials recently received planning permission with the Lafayette Consolidated Government to open at 3310 Ambassador Caffery Parkway following a comprehensive building renovation.

The work is valued at more than $6.6 million, the permit says.

Floor & Decor, which has one store in Baton Rouge and two in the New Orleans market, is a specialty retailer and distributor of commercial flooring operating 174 warehouse-format stores and five design studios in 34 states.

Burlington moved from this space to the former Stein Mart space in the Acadiana Square Mall.

Fidelis Realty Partners of Bellaire, Texas owns the mall, records show.

Old Navy eyeing an old shoe store near Costco

Old Navy may open a store near Costco in the Ambassador Town Center mall.

The popular clothing store has requested a waiver at 111 Meadow Farm Road, Suite 130, in the space that recently housed an Off Broadway shoe warehouse. The case is on the consolidated Lafayette government docket zoning board adjustment program for its meeting on Thursday.

Old Navy, which is owned by Gap Inc., has a store at 119 Tucker Drive near the Acadiana Mall, but does not appear to own the building, according to land records.

A Gap spokesperson declined to comment.

It’s unclear when Off Broadway Shoe Warehouse, a division of Rack Room Shoes, closed its Lafayette store.

LHC Group reports second quarter profit of $10.6 million

Lafayette-based LHC Group posted second-quarter profit of $10.6 million, or 35 cents per share, compared with $37.6 million, or $1.21 per diluted share a year ago .

The LHC recorded revenues of $576.2 million in the quarter, compared to $545.9 million the previous year.

The company, which got the go-ahead for its $5.4 billion merger with UnitedHealth Group in June, said its quality and patient satisfaction scores continued to exceed the national average. Home health quality star ratings rose from 4.2 in April to 4.25 in July, and home health patient satisfaction ratings fell from 3.83 in April to 4.01 in July, company officials said.

Palliative care admissions were up 5.5% in the second quarter compared to a year ago.

Acadiana Square is selling for an undisclosed amount

The Acadiana Square mall was sold for an undisclosed amount, records show.

Houston-based Property Commerce purchased the 244,000-square-foot mall from Atlanta’s RCG Ventures, according to land records.

Located on the north corner of Ambassador Caffery Parkway and Johnston Street, the property in question comprises three parcels, including buildings that run from Burlington and TJ Maxx to small shops against Ollie’s Bargain Barn. It also includes an outdoor plot, the Kirkland’s Home Store building at 5632 Johnston St.

This is the second property that Property Commerce owns in Louisiana. He bought the Elmwood Oaks mall in New Orleans in 2019.
