Barrie flooring company employees ratify new deal


14 Industrial Floor Systems employees will see their salaries increase by up to 14% by August 2025

Employees of Industrial Floor Systems Corp. ratified a three-year collective agreement granting them significant wage increases and other improvements.

Employees are represented by the construction workers union CLAC Local 52. The union has been representing employees since June 2019.

The 14 employees, who are mainly floor installers, technicians and operators, will see their wages increase by up to 14% by August 2025. The union bargaining committee was also able to obtain key additions such as a night $2.50 per hour. – shift premium and two sick days per calendar year. The contract also includes significant improvements to employer contributions to employees’ retirement savings in the CLAC Pension Plan as well as improvements to the CLAC Vacation Pay Trust.

“With such a unique industry, the bargaining committee has found creative ways to allocate its raises to areas that will benefit the group the most,” said CLAC representative Randy Parris. “The current economic climate created challenges that we had to deal with, but we were able to get the raises that members needed.
