Flooring services company breaks ground in Pflugerville with $20 million local investment

PFLUGERVILLE, TX — A flooring services company was set to open a $20 million campus on Monday in a move creating 140 immediate jobs in the city, officials said.

Officials from Pflugerville Community Development Corp. (PCDC) touted news of the grand opening of Flooring Services Southwest, a subsidiary of FS Builder Resources, at 130 Commerce Center in Pflugerville. The company will provide 140 jobs, with an expansion to 200 jobs over the next five years, according to PCDC executive director Amy Madison.

Officials said the state-of-the-art facility, which will be located at the corner of Helios Way and Impact Way, will include several FS Builder Resources companies, including: Flooring Services Southwest, Interior Builders Supply (IBS) Lighting, Design Gallery, Stone Resources, Premier Stair and Stores FS. The company is moving from two Austin locations on Long Vista Drive and Metric Boulevard.

The first phase of construction calls for a 187,000-square-foot facility that includes offices, the state’s first regional design and lighting gallery and a large warehouse for materials needed for new single-family building services, officials said. responsible. The second phase includes another 73,000 square foot facility for manufacturing stone countertops. The general contractor for the total 260,000 square foot expansion is Structure Tone Southwest in Austin.

“The Flooring Services Southwest team wanted to have their own custom-designed facility to meet their customers’ needs,” Madison said. “They looked in other communities, but found that Pflugerville offered exactly what they needed for their business: affordable, ready-to-use land located right on the highway for great access and visibility, and a talented and capable workforce to help grow the business and provide exemplary services for builders.”

Flooring Services Southwest closed on 30 acres of land purchased from PCDC in November 2016. Phases one and two of the construction project will be built on 15 acres of land at 130 Commerce Center, a mixed-use development located on the corner southwest of SH 130 and Pecan Street. The remaining 15 acre parcel will be used for further expansion.

Flooring Services Southwest CEO Harry Crosby explained how Pflugerville was selected for business expansion.

“Historically, we have always considered expectations for broader growth, both in the community in which our buildings would reside and within our own business,” he said. “We needed a location that would provide us with the ability to recruit talent, stay ahead of the game, and coincide with our business efficiency. Knowing that there is no other operation like ours in the area for our segment of the industry, Pflugerville fit the bill.”

Crosby thanked economic development officials for their zeal in pursuing the expansion: “I want to thank the City of Pflugerville for their enthusiasm, for making this decision so easy, and for welcoming us with open arms.”

Pflugerville Chamber of Commerce officials were scheduled to hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony onsite today at 4 p.m. June 5. “p” from the name of their city.
