Chartered accountants Beever and Struthers signed a 10-year lease for the Manchester property, which now has less than 3,000 square feet available.
Urbanize Construction is set to begin fitting out the 11,003 square foot second floor shortly. The development is under project management by In4M. Beevers and Struthers plans to move into its new offices this fall.
Landlord PJD Group bought the Grade 2-listed One Express in 2017. The signing of the Beever and Struthers lease comes six months after completing a comprehensive renovation of the 29,000 square foot building, which saw the added cafe and gym with showers.
OBI and Daniel Harris & Co represented PJD in the deal.
“I am delighted with this rental, which I believe is due to the quality of the product, combined with a location that has established itself over the past few years,” said PJD owner Mark Davies.
“Having a respected, local professional firm engage in this way shows that Ancoats is now catering to both the tech and professional sectors. This proves that if you provide a quality product, in a good location, tenants will want to take up space in your building.
Beever and Struthers are moving to One Express from St George’s House near Chester Road in Manchester. Executive partner Caroline Monk said One Express was a “perfect fit” for the business.
“We look forward to moving into a space that will encourage collaboration, innovative thinking and knowledge sharing between our teams, while ensuring that we continue to provide excellent service to our customers,” said Monk.
