#RivertonBiz: WERM flooring is now available locally

“#rivertonbizshares the stories of local movers and shakers in our Fremont County economy.

(Riverton, Wyoming) – An alternative to rubber mats for stock trailers, barns etc. is now available right here in Fremont County. Riverton resident Bret Sowards recently earned WERM Flooring Systems Certification and opened WERM of Wyoming, the state’s first ever.

WERM, which stands for We Eliminate Rubber Mats, is a permanent, padded, non-porous rubber flooring system that is impervious to liquids and eliminates the need for rubber mats in areas like horse and cattle trailers, according to Sowards.

Simply hose down WERM flooring to clean it instead of taking it off, cleaning it, drying it, then starting all over again. This flooring can be installed on concrete, aluminum, steel, wood or just about any other permanent surface, shared by Sowards.

“People typically install it in their trailers, barns, cattle crates, goat stalls, and even have custom mats.”

Before Sowards became an official dealer of WERM Flooring Systems, the closest location was Denver. Now head to 2641 Airport Drive in Riverton to experience Wyoming’s WERM.

Installation time varies depending on the size of the area, however, Sowards shared a 32′ trailer which only took about 2.5 hours. The mixture of 1/8″ rubber granules and liquid is spread over the area and then applied to a 5/8″ floor covering.
